Meeting Minutes

Club Minutes from July 10th, 2014
Pikes Peak Water Garden Society
July Club Member Meeting

There were 29 members present.

The July meeting was held at Mountain View Church of Christ in Colorado Springs CO.

The evening began with a Pizza Party at 6:30PM. While the pizza was being enjoyed, raffle tickets were sold for a pick of any of the Koi.

Dick Throckmorton called the meeting to order at 7:30PM welcoming everyone.

Tom Taylor gave a short introduction of himself and discussed the fish we were about to auction off. The fish are all from Black Water Creek in Florida and come with a 7 Day Live Warranty.

Bob Oatman discussed the Pond Tour. We are including The Union Printers Pond this year. We had 9 exhibiters’ plus the UP pond before Tom mentioned that he had 2 more exhibiters’ that wanted to join. Since UP’s pond is on the tour we discussed posting someone at that site. We had one volunteer. No decision was made. Michelle Ditto volunteered to photograph the pond tour pond for the website during the pre-tour.
Jean Susemihl mentioned the Newsletter and thanked Michelle Ditto for producing most of it.

Jerry Hunter then picked the winning raffle ticket. It belonged to Jock Schwank, so he picked his favorite Koi.

Jerry introduced himself and gave a brief history as to how he became involved with Koi Health.

Jerry noted that he had gone to Toms and performed scrappings of 10 of the fish that were up for auction. He did not find any parasites so felt the Koi were clean and healthy. He then proceeded to auction off the 17 remaining fish.

Jerry will be leading a presentation at the August meeting on Koi Health.

Door prizes were drawn for 3 Koi certificates from Tom. They went to Lanell Williams, Jean Susemihl, and Clauden Little.

Introductions of Visitors and New Members were made.

Meeting Adjourned at 9:00PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Bob Oatman
