1st Member Meeting for 2014

For the April Meeting only, the meeting date will be April 3, the first Thursday of the month. Balance of meetings will be held on the 2nd Thursday of each month.

The Pikes Peak Water Garden Society meetings are held every 2nd Thursday from April to September.  Most meetings start at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00 to 9:30 PM.

This year our meetings will once again be held at the Mountain View Church of Christ located at 1080 East La Salle Street.  This is at the west end of Constitution Avenue on the southwest corner.

Enter through the east door on the north side of the church.

Club Minutes from April 9th, 2015

Pikes Peak Water Garden Society

April Club Member Meeting

There were 42 members present.

The April meeting was held at Mountain View Church of Christ in Colorado Springs CO.

President Bob Oatman called the meeting to order at 7:08 PM and welcomed our new members and guests. He gave each of them a moment to introduce themselves and describe their experience with water gardening.
Bob then presented a power point introducing our Board Members, Coordinators.

Treasurer Dick Throckmorton then gave his Treasurers Report. We have $649.19 in checking and $2645.87 in savings for total club funds of $3295.06.

Bob continued his presentation with Upcoming Events.
Union Printer Pond pump down. April 11th
Union Printers Pond spring workshop April 18th
Sacred Hearts Retreat spring workshop May 9th.
Plant Sale workshop May 28th.
Plant Sale May 30th.
Koi Auction and Pizza Party July 9th.
Pond Tour July 25th and 26th.

Bob then introduced Stephanie from Harding Nursery how gave a very informative presentation about Xeriscaping Your Garden. Stephanie answered several question from our members.

The mic was then passed to Tom Taylor who drummed up support for the pond tour and suggested everyone purchase inexpensive water shoes from Walmart.

After fielding questions from our members Bob proposed that our club might purchase a table at Spring Spree. This would cost $200 and the application deadline is June 1st. Most everyone seemed to feel that this was a good idea, but only a few people agreed to manning the booth. Bob suggested that everyone think about it and that we would make a club decision at the May club meeting.

Bob then asked if there were any other questions before beginning to the draw door prizes.

Door prize winners were as follows: Ida Frasier – Fish, Sherry Conroy – Basket, Tom Barger – Pot, Mary Bucher – Koi Certificate, Lynn Rozema – Candle, Bob Oatman – Koi Certificate, Bev Kratzer – Koi Certificate, ? – Wind chime.
