There were 35 members present at this month’s meeting.

Dick introduced the board, Mark Wittrup and Greg Gutierrez.

Dick noted that he will be stepping down from the News Letter position for next year, and needs someone to volunteer to take up that challenge.

Dick mentioned that he would like the present board members to email him items for the next board meeting agenda .

Cheri gave the Treasurers report. She noted that we made a profit of 176.83 on the Koi Auction. We presently have $2,198.61 in checking and $2,611.17 in savings, for total club funds of $4,809.78.

Dick began a pond tour wrap-up with the help of several members who had their ponds on the tour. It looks like we had between 200 and 250 visit the ponds. Everybody that had presented their ponds expressed that they had a great time, and suggest that anyone that is thinking about it for next year should do it. Thanks to Tom Taylor, Steve Carson and everyone else for putting this tour together.

Dick then explained the election of officers. He noted that two board members (Bob Oatman and Tom Taylor) have reached the end of their term and that their positions are open. He suggested that people self-nominate if they would like to become more active with the club. The following people were nominated, and the nominations were seconded. Bob Oatman, Tom Taylor, Mark Wittrup.

Bob Oatman then began the presentation on Filtration. He started by giving a basic explanation of the nitrification cycle, then gave a presentation about the filter system he has in his pond. Dick then presented several different types of filtration media, filter types and a description of his pond filter system. Cheri shared what she is using in her pond.
