July Club Member Meeting
11 July, 2013

Pizza Party and Koi Auction

July’s club meeting was opened with a Pizza Party at 6:30PM at Mt. View Church of Christ.

President Dick Throckmorton began the meeting at 7:40PM.

There were 52 members present at this month’s meeting.

Dick introduced the board, Mark Wittrup and Greg Gutierrez. He then explained the election of officers. He noted that two board members (Bob Oatman and Tom Taylor) have reached the end of their term and that their positions are open. He suggested that people self-nominate if they would like to become more active with the club.

Cheri presented the treasurers report. We have $1,992.88 in checking, and $2,611.17 in savings for total club funds of $4,604.05.

Dick and Tom Taylor spoke about the Pond Tour and the availability to add more ponds to the tour.

At this Koi Auction raffle tickets were sold for $5 each or 3 for $10. Since over $200 in tickets was sold, 2 Koi were offered for the raffle. Shirley Weaver’s ticket was pulled first so she got her pick of all the Koi. Kathy Wittrup then had her ticket pulled so she had her pick of the fish.

The Koi auction then began with Tom Taylor as the auctioneer. 34 Koi were up for auction. When we got down to about 10 Koi the bidding began to drop off, so Tom sold most of the remaining Koi with a price starting at $50 and working down to $25.

Tom had also brought 10 small Koi (4 of which didn’t make it) to be offered at $10. Alicia Ireland won a drawing for a free small Koi. Unfortunately people began grabbing the small $10 Koi before she had an opportunity to pick one. So she was allowed to pick one of the remaining more expensive Koi.

There were no door prizes offered at this meeting.

Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Bob Oatman
Secretary
