April’ Club Member Meeting
10 May, 2012

May’s club meeting was opened by President Ron Bissonnette at 7:15PM at Mt. View Church of Christ.

There were 43 members present at this month’s meeting.

Tom Taylor spoke about the workshop at the Union Printers Home this weekend at 9:00am. He stated that we needed volunteers to fertilize and possibly divide the lilies. He also mentioned the need for volunteers for the pond cleaning in Sedalia at 9:00am on the 19th of May.

Bob Oatman gave a brief description (in 700 words or less) of how the cleaning of the Union Printers pond went.

Dick Throckmorton gave the financial report to members. The club had $423 in total deposits and $425.41 in expenses, leaving $444.41 in checking. The clubs saving account had $.38 in deposits and $0 in withdrawals, leaving $3,112.65 in saving. The clubs available total funds are $3,557.06. The Financial statement is available for all members to review.

Dick also mentioned that the pond tour was still on, even though it was inadvertently deleted out of the latest newsletter.

Bev Kratzer has volunteered to coordinate the plant sale. She spoke about the need to market the sale and asked for ideas. Calling the radio station KVOR was suggested.

Robert Lammon asked for volunteers to speak at next month’s meeting describing something or anything they have built for their pond.

Robert then introduced Jerry Hunter who gave a presentation about Koi Spawning, including a question and answer period. He noted the overall effect to the pond echo system, and that those that have had their Koi Spawn usually do not want them to do it again.

The following members won door prizes.

Dotty Hume – Plant Clippers
Virgil Redding – Adjustable Plant Hanger
Kay Jackson – Hose guide
Bunny Hale – Iris

Dick drew the winner of the electronic newsletter drawing. It was Tim Evans who will be receiving a $15 check in the mail. He noted that members that wish to receive their newsletters electronicly need to log into the PPWGS website and make that selection.

Robert Lammon concluded the meeting at 8:30PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Bob Oatman
