Selling your pond and Protecting your fish from predators

will be the second meeting for 2011. A local realtor will discuss issues/suggestions when selling a house with a pond. Claude Oleyar from Alpine Animal Control will talk about predators.
The
Pikes Peak Water Garden Society meetings are held every 2nd Thursday from April
to October. Most meetings start at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00 to
9:30 PM.
This
year our meetings will once again be held at the Mountain View Church of Christ
located at 1080 East La Salle Street. This is at the west end of
Constitution Avenue on the southwest corner.

July’s Club Membership Meeting
12 May, 2011
May’s club meeting was opened by President Steve Carson at 7:30PM at Mt. View Church of Christ. There were 45 members that attended this month’s meeting.
Dick Throckmorton gave the financial report to members. The club had $833.00 in deposits, 67.48 in expenses for checking total of 1,308.62. With savings balance of $3,481.71, the club’s available funds were $4,790.33. Financial statement is available for all members to review.
Steve made several announcements to members about the upcoming workshops. Member’s who attend the plant workshop on Thursday would be able to select their plants prior to the start of the sale on Saturday. Sacred Heart workshop has moved to 4 June. He also mentioned that we still had openings for members to participate during this year’s pond tour scheduled for last week of July. He also asked members to if they would like to move the start of the meetings, an hour earlier, to 6:30PM. Almost all voted yes. Steve will poll the members at the next two meetings to ensure that there is a unanimous agreement.
Robert announced that we had two guest speakers for tonight’s meeting. Tonight’s subjects were a result of feedback from members. Members are encouraged to continue to provide the board with subject that they would like to hear.
First guest speaker, Nancy Rusinak, Rusinak Real Estate, was introduced to the members. Nancy gave a half an hour presentation on what homeowners, who has a pond, can expect when selling their home.
Our second speaker was Claude from Pikes Peak Animal. Claude did a half an hour discussion on how to deal with various predators that cohabitate in our local area. Paul Ellis played a big part in getting Claude to speak tonight.
The meeting ended at 8:45 PM.
