Magicians in our ponds

will be the fifth meeting of 2010. Jerry Hunter will present "Magicians in our ponds". How the ammonia from fish waste gets converted into plant food following the nitrogen cycle.

The Pikes Peak Water Garden Society meetings are held every 2nd Thursday from April to September.  Most meetings start at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00 to 9:30 PM.

This year our meetings will once again be held at the Mountain View Church of Christ located at 1080 East La Salle Street.  This is at the west end of Constitution Avenue on the southwest corner.

Enter through the east door on the north side of the church.

July’s Club Membership Meeting

Augusts’ club meeting was opened by President Steve Carson at76:35PM at Mt. View Church of Christ. There were 45 members that attended this month’s meeting.

Ron welcomed all members and asked if any new members were present. None were. Steve covered what was on the agenda for tonight’s meeting. He handed out a card with tonight’s agenda and questionnaire. He asked that members provide their feedback on the questions asked as well as any suggestions they wanted to provide. Each board member introduced themselves and talked about what they did.

Dick Throckmorton gave the financial report to members. The club’s current cash was $5786.33. Financial statement is available on the web site.

Steve presented some slides showed the number of hits our web site had prior to the pond tour. He also showed members all the areas they are able to access on the site such as self profile updates, newsletter access and so on. He also state when the next board meeting will be held and that any member is welcome to attend.

Dick Throckmorton showed members on how he built a bog area next to his pond.

Jerry Hunter did an outstanding job, using slides, in presenting “Magician’s in Our Ponds, The Nitrogen Cycle. The members really enjoyed the presentation.

The meeting ended at 9:10 PM.

Tom Taylor donated several of his Koi to the club for door prizes. The following members won door prizes:
