will be the second meeting of 2010.

The Pikes Peak Water Garden Society meetings are held every 2nd Thursday from April to September.  Most meetings start at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00 to 9:30 PM.

This year our meetings will once again be held at the Mountain View Church of Christ located at 1080 East La Salle Street.  This is at the west end of Constitution Avenue on the southwest corner.

Enter through the east door on the north side of the church.

Pikes Peak Water Garden Society
May’s Club Membership Meeting
13 May 2010

May’s club meeting was opened by President Steve Carson at 7:30 PM at Mt. View Church of Christ. There were 43 members.

Steve opened the meeting covering several items of interest. First, he said that club members that show their membership cards or are current in their membership will be able to enter the Plant sale, on 5 June, 2010 at 0930, a half an hour earlier than the general public. He also told members that their house was recently visited by Herons and some ways you can help protect your fish.

Dick Throckmorton was not available to provide members a financial report.

LaNell Williams did an awesome presentation on how to build a floating island planter. She showed member the step by step process how to construct one.

Robert Lammon did a presentation on pressurized bead filter system and proper pond construction to maximized water quality and clarity.

Ron opened the floor for general questions from members. Members were asked what topics they would like to see covered at future meetings. Some areas of interest were pond design, Koi identification/issues, and how to repair liners.

Stsve told members that he was making stepping stone and asked member if they were interested in buy one, to make him an offer what they think it was worth. Low offers will not be accepted.
