Annual Koi Auction

will be the fourth meeting of 2009. Nows the time to get your newest pond additions. It is our annual Koi auction and you could take one home.

The Pikes Peak Water Garden Society meetings are held every 2nd Thursday from April to September.  Most meetings start at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00 to 9:30 PM.

This year our meetings will once again be held at the Mountain View Church of Christ located at 1080 East La Salle Street.  This is at the west end of Constitution Avenue on the southwest corner.

Enter through the east door on the north side of the church.

Pikes Peak Water Garden Society
July’s Club Membership Meeting
9 July, 2009

July’s club meeting was opened by President Ron Bissonnette at 6:30PM at Mt. View Church of Christ. There were 77 members and two guests that attended this month’s Koi auction.
The evening started with pizza and preview showing of the Kois that are available for the auction.
Ron welcomed all guest and new member to meeting. He asked members for any volunteers that are interested in taking pictures of this year’s pond tour. Andrew Cronk donated 3 Koi paints that he did to the club. The purchase price is $15. Ron also thanked Kirk Messinger and Loran Yukawafor driving up to Koi Lagoon to pick up the Koi for the auction.
The auction began at 7:10pm. Jan Thompson, a certified Koi Judge, along with her husband Scott provided members with detailed information for each Koi to include their Japanese names and characteristics. She even held back five Koi that she considered her favorite. The auction went very well.
There were several more announcements after the auction. The members only Night Pond Tour that was held last year was a great success. The cub was interested to see if there were any members interested in participating in tour this year. Any members interested should contact Kirk.
The meeting was at 8:30PM.
The winner for July’s on-line newsletter drawing was Don & Carol Kryder. They won $20 in cash.
