Water features and what to look for

will be the third meeting for 2009. Cindy Thomas from Denver will speak on building water features.

The Pikes Peak Water Garden Society meetings are held every 2nd Thursday from April to September.  Most meetings start at 7:00 PM and wrap up around 9:00 to 9:30 PM.

This year our meetings will once again be held at the Mountain View Church of Christ located at 1080 East La Salle Street.  This is at the west end of Constitution Avenue on the southwest corner.

Enter through the east door on the north side of the church.

Pikes Peak Water Garden Society
June’s Club Membership Meeting
11 June, 2009

June’s club meeting was opened by President Ron Bissonnette at 7:35PM at Mt. View Church of Christ. There were 73 members that attended. Ron welcomed all guest and new member to meeting.

Dick Throckmorton briefed the members of the current financial status for the club. The net sales for this year’s plant sale were approximately $3510.00. There are several more transactions that need to be processed before the final figure is available. The end balances for checking and savings is $3390.57, $2065.60 respectively with a total club funds of $5456.17. The financial statement is available for all club members to review.

The main guest speaker for tonight’s meeting was Cindy Thomas and her husband Mike. She presented the club members with different ways of creating and displaying water plant containers. She covered color theory, design principals, water spitters, and disappearing fountains. The presentation was done with slides and samples she brought with her. The presentation lasted for about an hour.

The winner for June’s on-line newsletter drawing was Mark and Jen Hornberger. They won $20 in cash.
