General Club Meeting Minutes
August 09, 2007
Meeting called to order at about 7:45 PM by Bob Pollock, President, at the Holy Cross Church.
Mary Bucher provided current treasury report to the members.
Mary also briefed the club members on the legal status in recovering money from a T-shirt shop that failed to fulfill an order we placed. The court decided to give the business the option to pay back the money owed to PPWGS. She agreed to a payment schedule. If the business fails to comply with the agreement, the court action would favor the club to continue actions with a collection agency.
Fall workshops are coming up in September. Members were encouraged to sign up.
A briefing was given for the Pond Tour that occurred several weeks ago. The club gained six new members. This year’s Pond Tour was excellent, however, there was smaller turn-out folks visiting the 12 ponds this year.
The club’s librarian requested that members please return any outstanding books. Some materials have been out for a year.
Several club officer positions are open for nominations. They are president and vice-president. Nominations so far are Dick Throckmorton, Ron Bissonnette, and Phil Goulding.
Sara Garrison will be taking over the club’s newsletter.
Steve Carson provided a detailed report on the hit rates for the club’s web site before and during the pond tour.
Ron Bissonnette presented an outstanding presentation on how-to in building a pond.
