Meeting Minutes

Pikes Peak Water Garden Society
July Club Member Meeting Minutes from July 13th, 2017 at 6:30PM
There were 35 members present.
The meeting was held at Mountain View Church of Christ in Colorado Springs CO.
Bob Oatman opened the pizza table at 6:30 for all to enjoy. We purchased 10 pizzas from Louies, salad and snacks. About 3 pizzas were left over.
At 7:15 Bob welcomed everyone and passed the mic around to some new faces in the crowd. He then displayed and introduced the Board of Directors and displayed the Coordinators for 2017.
Shirley Weaver presented her Treasurer Report. We presently have $3283.93 in Checking and $2651.82 in Savings, and $50 Cash on Hand. That makes total club funds of $5985.75, but we have $113.74 in outstanding checks.
Bob then discussed the Pond Tour. At the beginning of tonight’s meeting we had 8 members signed up as exhibiters. During the meeting two more people signed up so now we have 10.
Bob then discussed the two workshops we have remaining this year. Union Printers and the Humane Society.
Bob then introduced Jerry Hunter and Tom Taylor. Tom gave a brief history about where the fish came from and how to care for them when they get to their new home.
Tonight, we offered a raffle for Koi. $5/ticket or $10/3 tickets. The winning ticket was drawn by Jerry Hunter and Bob Oatman was the winner. Bob apologetically accepted, and picked out 1 Koi of the 16 which were on display.
The Auction then began with a looping video being projected of each fish as they were being auctioned. Although the bidding was very low, a good time was had by all.
At the completion of the auction Bob opened the floor for questions, none were asked.
Bob noted that the next meeting would be August 10th and asked that members send him pictures of critters in and around their ponds for next month’s meeting.
The meeting was concluded at 9:00 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Bob Oatman
President
